EEA/EU Family Visa

Documents Required

Application Form

• Signed printout of the Harmonised Schengen Visa Application Form from the UDI online portal.

Passport

• Original passport issued within the last 10 years.
• Valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended departure from Norway.
• Must contain at least two blank pages.

Photograph

• One recent passport-sized photo (not older than 6 months, unedited).
  (Refer to the Photo Specifications section for full requirements.)

UK Residency

• UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code.

Proof of Relationship to EU/EEA or Swiss National

• Documentation showing family relationship, such as:
  • Marriage certificate
  • Birth certificate
  • Bank statements showing financial dependency (if applicable)

Proof of EU/EEA or Swiss National’s Status

• Passport or residence card of the EU/EEA or Swiss national who is the reference person.
• If the reference person is a Norwegian citizen, evidence must show they have lived in another EU/EEA country on a permanent basis before returning to Norway.

Proof of Travel or Visit

• Flight tickets or travel plans showing that the applicant is travelling with the EU/EEA or Swiss national, or
• Documentation proving that the EU/EEA or Swiss national resides in Norway.

Minors (Under 18 Years)

• Birth certificate.
• For minors travelling alone or with one parent:
  • Original or certified copies of both parents’ passports,
  • Written parental consent,
  • British school certificate.
• If sole custody applies:
  • Birth certificate naming one parent,
  • Death certificate of the other parent, or
  • Court ruling confirming custody.

Additional Notes

• All documents must be submitted in A4 format only.
• Do not staple, glue, or pin any documents.
• All supporting documents must be dated within 30 days.
• Original documents must be shown at the appointment, even if only copies are submitted.
• Supporting documents will not be returned.
• Applications may be delayed or refused if incomplete or incorrect.

Photo Specifications

• Provide one recent colour photograph (taken within the last 6 months).
• The background must be light (white or off-white) to ensure facial features are clearly visible.
• The photo must be of high clarity, with the face fully in focus.
• The image must show a neutral expression with the full face visible.
• No smiling, no sunglasses, and no hats or caps are permitted.
• Head coverings are only allowed for religious or cultural reasons, but the face must be fully visible.
• The photo must be printed on standard photographic paper (camera print).
• Attach the photograph to the visa application form using a paper clip (do not glue or staple).

If the submitted photograph does not meet these specifications, the application will be deemed incomplete and the applicant will be required to provide a compliant photo before the application can proceed.
