How It Works

• Book Your Appointment:
  • Schedule an appointment at the appropriate Embassy, Consulate General, or Honorary Consul’s office.
• Prepare Your Documents:
  • Use our detailed checklist to gather all required documents.
• Attend Your Appointment:
  • Present yourself in person for identification, biometric data capture, and document verification.
• Processing & Delivery:
  • Your application is processed by the relevant authorities. Once approved, your new passport or ID card is sent to you by courier.
• Ongoing Support:
  • We provide continuous support and updates throughout the process.

Documents Required

General Documents (All Applicants)

• Completed and signed passport application form
• Printed application checklist (Under 18 or Over 18)
• Valid Norwegian passport (for renewals)
• Proof of identity (passport, birth certificate, etc.)
• If your name or personal details have changed: supporting documents (e.g., name change form, date of birth correction form)

First-Time Applicants

• Additional appointment (you must attend the embassy twice)
• Norwegian birth certificate or proof of citizenship
• Information about both parents (full names and birth dates)
• Valid photo ID for both parents
• Details of emigration, if applicable (especially if you left Norway between 1960–1975)

Applicants Under 18

• Child must be present
• One parent/legal guardian must accompany the child
• Written consent from the second parent with a certified ID copy
• Birth certificate showing both parents
• Completed parental consent form
• Valid ID for both parents

Emergency Passport Requests

• Email to the embassy explaining urgent need for travel
• Supporting documents (e.g. medical documents, travel bookings)
• Applicant’s name and date of birth

Important Information

• Delays may occur. Even with an appointment, wait times may vary due to high demand.
• Renovations at the Embassy (April 2025–October 2026) may affect lift access, opening hours, and appointment availability.
• Apply in Norway if possible. Faster processing and lower fees apply. You can have the new passport sent to the London Embassy.
• Parental consent is required for all applicants under 18—strictly enforced.
• Incomplete applications will be refused. Ensure all forms, documents, and photos are ready before your appointment.
• New identity number applicants (first-time passports) should allow 8–10 weeks for processing.
